In 1998, FirstLine Schools started the first charter school in New Orleans. FirstLine now operates several PreK-8th grade schools.  Our mission is to create and inspire great, open admissions public schools in New Orleans.

Position Summary:

The After School Dance Instructor will provide students an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of a specific subject area while supervising and managing their development of the understanding of the craft.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supervises students in an after school setting
• Teaches school students the fundamentals and rules of subject area
• Supports students in their growth and understanding of subject area
• Remains committed to our students for the entire semester
• Records and reports daily attendance 
• Manages and maintains inventory of needed supplies
• Creates an exciting learning environment for a wide range of learners
• Provides student tutoring and/or homework assistance

Education & Experience:

• Demonstrated success working with students in an urban, open admissions school
• Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of subject area
• Experience in an urban, open admissions school
• Experience working with and a deep commitment to at-risk students and families
• Demonstrated record of setting high expectations for students with special needs
