About The Role
Peraton is seeking a skilled WebEOC Specialist to support our mission-critical work with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), specifically the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Freedom Center in Herndon, VA. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting and enhancing a DHS incident management commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) application utilized nationwide. The selected candidate will be responsible for gathering requirements and leading efforts in front-end development, including the design, documentation, testing, debugging, and overall improvement of application software. Location: This is a Hybrid full-time role based in Herndon, VA.
Schedule: Requires availability to provide support outside of standard business hours, as needed.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day application administration and support, collaborating directly with government personnel in both virtual and on-site settings.
- Contribute in all phases of the application development life-cycle including but not limited to; requirements gathering, designing, developing, QA testing, and deploying solutions.
- Write well designed, testable, and efficient front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Perform application administration duties that includes assisting stakeholders with account issues/audits, access, troubleshooting, training, and various requests during both in-person and virtual interactions.
- Participate in daily SCRUM meetings with government staff to discuss current projects as needed.
- Work closely with business analysts, UI/UX developers, subject matter experts, and government stakeholders to document functional requirements.
- Support and document processes for system testing in controlled environments before code is promoted to production.
- Perform system operations and maintenance (O&M) actions by following and creating SOPs.
- Create and maintain application SSRS and Bower-BI reports.
- Actively troubleshoot and resolve application outages as they arise while participating in technical troubleshooting meetings.
- Participate and provide end-user application support during TSA Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations, working in temporary shifts to provide 24x7 support.
- Document and execute system-wide Test Scripts during upgrades.
- Collaborate and perform periodic code reviews with team members.
- Provide key application stakeholders various system usage metrics and reports for analysis.
- Work with developers of other DHS systems for data-sharing, either within the database or using APIs.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 0 years’ experience or Associate’s degree and 2 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
- Must have an Active Secret clearance to be considered.
- Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
- Direct experience in software development and/or programming design and systems management.
- Experience developing web-based applications by employing HTML, JavaScript, CSS and CSS frameworks (i.e. Boostrap), XML, XSL, JavaScript libraries (i.e. jQuery), JSON, consuming REST API services.
- Experience with application administration and end-user application support.
- Knowledge of relational database management systems (i.e. SQL).
- Must be able to actively assist and troubleshoot system issues as they arise, during or after business hours.
- Relevant DHS focused experience.
- WebEOC application experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with reporting services (SSRS and Power-BI) or similar reporting tools.
- Knowledge of T-SQL to interact with relational databases.
- Experience with Web application frameworks; .NET and C#.
- Experience working in an Agile based development environment, utilizing SCRUM, Kanban, and providing Story Points.
- Experience with cloud-based and SaaS environments.
- Ability to create and maintain technical diagrams and writing.
- ITIL4 Certification.
- Must be able to recognize critical elements of successful engineering operations and hold themselves and their teams accountable for meeting those critical deliverables.
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range
Details
Target Salary Range: $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
