Description: The College of Connected Computing at Vanderbilt University invites applications for all ranks (tenure-track Assistant, tenured Associate, or tenured Full Professor positions) in Computer Science. The faculty positions will be offered within the Vanderbilt College of Connected Computing. The college will advance breakthrough discoveries through interdisciplinary collaborations between other colleges on campus through a "computing for all" approach. Successful applicants at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor are expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to develop and grow vigorous programs of externally funded research. Successful applicants at ranks of Associate and Full Professor are expected to fulfill leadership roles in the College, including but not limited to defining and driving educational activities, leading significant collaborative and interdisciplinary research projects recognized both nationally and internationally, and making substantial contributions to the advancement of their field. All areas of Computer Science are of interest, including, but not limited to theoretical foundations, programming languages, cyber-security, human-computer interactions, quantum computing, Computer Science education, natural language processing, graphics, parallel computing, high performance computing, very large-scale database, next generation networking, operating systems, neuro-symbolic AI, AI in software and other fields of engineering and science, and resilient and dependable systems. Vanderbilt University is a private university located on 330 park-like acres on the western edge of downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville is a regional center for culture and technology which has been growing alongside the University since Vanderbilt's founding in 1873. Qualifications: Applicants for the tenure-track Assistant Professor in Computer Science must have a PhD in computing such as computer science, data science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, and research experience in computer science or related fields, at the time of hiring. Successful applicants should have a compelling research vision that aligns with the multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional collaborative research culture of the College of Connected Computing. Applicants for the tenured Associate or Full Professor position are currently a tenured Associate or Full Professor in Computer Science or a related field, or renowned researchers from industry with a strong track record of competitively funded, large-scale research projects aligned with computing research. Applicants must have a strong record of peer-reviewed publishing, a PhD in computing such as computer science, data science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, and research experience in computer science or related fields. Successful applicants should have a track record of contributing to multidisciplinary and multi-institutional collaborative research projects. Teaching in the College is a requirement for all positions, but not a pre-requisite for applying.
