ESL Jobs in Taizhou

We are now looking for enthusiastic, positive and qualified English teachers who have a genuine desire to teach young learners aged 3 to 15 years old at our modern language school in Taizhou.

Established in 1997, our school has more than 40 campuses across Taiwan and China. We aim to provide the best quality English education that we can offer. Our young learners have the opportunity to learn in modern, safe, all-English environment. We also provide a series of well-researched and well-structured curriculum which follows the North American standards. We provide education which has a balanced distribution on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. We encourage our foreign teachers to create a fun and educational learning environment.

With a maximum class size of 16 students, the foreign teachers and the young learners have more opportunity to interact and be acquainted with one another. A local teaching assistant will be available in every classroom to assist with the administrative side of running a class such as communicating with parents. We put great emphasis on quality education and we achieve that through our professional teachers’ training, on-going management support and promotional opportunities given to all the teachers.

The Curriculum

We offer two different programs for students: “Early Starter Programs” are for young learners aged 3 to 6 years old. It uses a series of English course materials developed by our very own research and development department. The textbooks cover areas such as phonics, vocabularies and conversation. A large part of the program is music where we developed over 60 songs for young learners. The lyrics of the songs are all associated with the content of our conversation books.

The other program is the “Elementary Program” which is for older students between 3 to 12 years old. The course materials consist of a series of English textbooks developed by McGraw Hill, an American publishing company. The subjects learned are Spelling, Language Arts, Phonics, Dolch Sight Words, Reading and Writing.

Teach English in Taizhou

Situated on the east coast, not far from Shanghai, Taizhou offers a slice of authentic Chinese life while still being within easy reach of major cities such as Shanghai and the provincial capital, Nanjing. The city’s population is close to 6 million people. The city is rich in cultural marvels and home to the ‘mini Great Wall of China’, an ancient cultural treasure, as well as numerous parks and a history of glass, bamboo and stone sculptures. Thanks to its well- established transport links, Taizhou has an easy access to the famous Yandang Mountain, Tiantai scenic area, many natural wonders and small islands.

The low cost of living and pleasant climate along with the recent developments and modernization make it a desirable city to live in. Make sure to try the street-side barbecue and eggplant in the night market in Huangyan District, where you can also find various trinkets and articles of clothing. If you feel like being close to nature, make sure to take a hike on Jiufeng Mountain and take a good view of the region with a lot of temples near the summit where you can also find a well-known vegetarian restaurant.

Main Responsibilities

– Wednesday –  Sunday , 9:30 – 12:00, 13:00-18:30 Schedule
-Maximum number of students per class: 12 students
-Student age: 3 to 15 year olds
-Plan lessons and classroom activities
-Write weekly reports on each student’s progress and development
-Assist in school’s promotional events
-Attend staff meeting and teacher training
-Teach students fluency in verbal, listening, reading and written English
-Introduce students to western cultures and festivals

Compensation

-Excellent salary: 15,200 – 18,000 RMB per month
-Free housing accommodation OR 3,000 RMB monthly housing allowance
-Attendance bonus: 600 RMB per month
-Monthly performance bonus: 400 RMB
-Performance bonus: up to 5,000 RMB every 3 months throughout the contract
-Contract completion bonus: 9,000 RMB (1 year) and 23,000 RMB (2 years)
-Relocation allowance: 1,500 – 1,750 RMB
-Annual salary increase
-All public holidays plus 5 paid personal holidays
-Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided
-Optional unpaid leave for teachers in August if a 2 year contract is signed
-Staff trip each semester
-Professional pre-job training with on-going program supervision

Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree required
-TEFL certificate 120 hours plus required (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL TEFL Certificate )
-Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland
-Some teaching experience preferred (non-experienced teachers are welcome to apply)
-Clean criminal record check
-Fluency in oral and written English
-Professional, positive and culturally aware
-Energetic, friendly and hard-working
