The Center for Courageous Kids (CCK) is a medically-based camp that enriches the lives of children with disabilities and life long illnesses . Since opening in 2008, we've served over 43,000 campers from across the U.S. and around the world. Our mission is to provide inclusive, medically safe experiences at no cost to families , allowing children to enjoy activities like horseback riding, boating, fishing, and more-without limitations or barriers.

Position Overview: Summer Medical Intern

As a Medical Intern, you'll work alongside our full-time medical team to ensure the health and safety of campers throughout their stay. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with daily medical tasks such as assessments, documentation, and medication administration
• Supporting treatment of minor illnesses or injuries
• Helping with camper-specific procedures and monitoring health needs
• Collaborating with counselors and staff to maintain a safe, positive environment

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have completed the first semester of an accredited nursing program or have completed a medical assistant training program.
• Must have CPR certification
• Must be able to gauge and recognize camper behavior that may be harmful to camper or others and utilize appropriate behavior techniques as needed.
• Must be able to recognize potential safety hazards and enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures.
• Must have visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other health hazards related to residential life.
• Must be able to physically and mentally lead and assist in the care of assigned campers during the entire session, navigating the camp schedule and any required adjustments .
• Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Proficiency in typing, proofreading and record keeping
• Must be flexible and able to multi-task
• Excellent organizational, time management , and analytical skills
• High personal integrity and sound personal / professional ethics
• Must be a team player
• Must be open to learning
