General Description

The Senior Research & Development Systems Engineer will contribute to the development of new pulsed-field energy delivery electrosurgical generators. This role includes technical contribution to the design and development projects and execution of product verification and validation testing.

Key Requirements

Education and Training: Scientific degree in Electrical, Software or Biomedical Engineering with consideration given to degree level combined with experience. Other degrees within the engineering discipline are acceptable with medical device experience.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience developing state-of-the-art medical devices (5+ years’ Experience with B.S. in Engineering/Science. 3+ years’ experience with M.S.).
• Experience developing and testing hardware and software for medical devices (3+ years experience)
• Experience managing outside test labs and working to mitigate technical issues that may arise in demonstration of compliance to electromechanical safety (IEC 60601-1) and electromagnetic compatibility (IEC 60601-1-2).
• Working knowledge of medical device design controls, risk management, human factors, software development and quality systems desired.
• Strong communication skills are a must (verbal and written).
• Ability to work and contribute effectively in a team environment while also being able to work and solve problems working independently when necessary.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving company and operate with a high sense of urgency.

Key Responsibilities

• Contributor to the creation of design control inputs and design specifications required for next-generation electrosurgical generators.
• Manage consultants and/or contract manufacturer on detail design and development of next generation electrosurgical generators.
• Support the design of components, sub-assemblies, devices and software ensuring that all design requirements are met.
• Work with cross-functional resources to resolve design issues, define key characteristics, dimensional tolerances, manufacturing procedures, etc.
• Support process and test development through the design of fixtures and equipment.
• Write and review test protocols and reports.
• Execute hardware and software test protocols, as well as perform ad hoc testing as required for evaluating designs.
• Provide technical support to Quality for CAPA investigations, complaints, and failure investigations.
• Provide technical support for Operations in developing and executing acceptance test protocols.

At Galvanize Therapeutics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $120,000 and $145,000 per year, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
