Position: Quality Assurance Manager

Salary: $65-70k DOE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Manager with expertise in the Pet Industry to oversee and optimize our quality control processes. This role requires a meticulous professional who can efficiently manage quality standards, inspections, and compliance protocols while ensuring seamless coordination with our production teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with quality management systems, NetSuite, and industry compliance requirements for consumables and hard goods.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides the required technical support for quality assurance documentation
  • Compiles and submits monthly reports as assigned
  • Works within the ERP, NetSuite, as needed
  • Coordinates the flow of GMP documentation, e.g. internal and external audits, SOP control, change control, material approval documentation
  • HACCP team lead and responsible for HACCP management and upkeep
  • Team lead for environmental monitoring program
  • Conducts certification management
  • Conducts finished product review and release
  • Owns COA reviews and approvals
  • Conducts team trainings
  • Submits purchasing requisitions for QA related equipment
  • Procures technical information from vendors
  • Procures technical information for specification sheets
  • Completes, verifies accuracy, and maintains raw material, WIP and finished product specifications
  • Participates in and completes administrative project work as assigned
  • Complies with food safety and GMP requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Business or a related field
  • Vigorous attention to detail
  • Strong QA/QC background and skills
  • Keen understanding of FDA cGMP guidelines
  • Knowledge and understanding of AAFCO and NASC guidelines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and able to anticipate business needs and provide solutions
  • Utilize quality control analysis skills such as conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordinating people and resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with refining processes and creating documentation
  • Knowledge of the pet, health, or supplement industry and key ingredients
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Suite
