About this Role:

The Home-Community Based Services (HCBS) Policy and Program Unit is searching for an Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) who is skilled in verbal and written communication, including the ability to interpret complex legislation, regulations, and budget-related issues. Under direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the  AGPA is responsible for researching program regulations and developing recommendations and alternatives. Results from the AGPA  examination(s) currently in progress may be utilized for filling the position.

This position may be subject to the Department’s Conflict of Interest Code and may require annual filing of a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) when assuming office, annually while in office, and upon leaving office.

This position has been advertised as limited-term and is expected to last 12 months. This limited-term position may be  extended up to 24 months if supported by workload or may  become permanent if the workload becomes permanent.

Telework Information

This position is currently eligible for telework up to three days per week. the amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change consistent with DHCS' Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 - 14203. Telework is available to California residents, and proof of residency may be required. 

Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated office and residence subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
