We want your knowledge and expertise! **Job Summary and Qualifications** As a Patient Safety Attendant, you will participate in high-quality, patient-centered care by providing continuous observation and monitoring for high risk patients. You will be joining a team that is dedicated to serving others in need and also supporting one another. In this role: + You will collaborate with the patient care team; the PSA ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes risk of falls and accidental or intentional self-harm. The Sitter may also assist with basic activities of daily living responsibilities. + You will maintain a direct line of sight with patient at all times, including while family and/or visitors are in the room. Accompanies patient and ensures patient safety during transportation, testing, and procedures occurring away from the patient's normal environment. + You will monitor patient physical and emotional condition. Reports any changes in status promptly while remaining direct line of sight with the patient. + You create clear, accurate documentation on patient status and activity during the shift. + You will promote consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service. + You will demonstrate caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions. + You will serve as a resource to department staff, students, volunteers and other departments, and contributes to the teamwork essential to ensuring quality patient care + You will include maintenance of a safe, clean and age-appropriate environment and provide care to meet the patient/family's, physical, psychological, spiritual, social, and cultural needs with the RN's assistance. **Qualifications:** + Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support or obtain within 7 days of hire date. + One year of experience in healthcare and/or acute care setting preferred. + NVCI (CPI) training within 60 days of hire date Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center ( (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318+ patient beds.
