Job Summary

We  are  seeking an experienced Nutrition Attendant to support patient care in a clinical setting. Under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian and the Manager of Nutrition Services, the Nutrition Attendant plays a key role in delivering high-quality nutritional care and support to patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Candidates must have prior experience working in a healthcare environment and demonstrate familiarity with age-specific dietary needs, as well as compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.

Job Description

• Assist in the nutritional care and treatment of patients by performing a variety of clerical and food service tasks.
• Work under the direction of clinical nutrition staff to support patient dietary requirements.
• Prepare and deliver meals according to patient-specific needs and dietary restrictions.
• Maintain effective communication with staff across departments to ensure coordinated nutrition services.
• Interact with patients and their families in an age-appropriate, respectful, and compassionate manner.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation standards, including proper food handling practices.
• Comply with all clinical protocols and regulatory requirements relevant to nutritional care.
• Support the documentation and administrative needs of the nutrition services team.

Education

• California Food Handler Card

Pay Rate

• $40 per hour

Additional Requirements

• This i s a temporary, one-week assignment for a special project taking place this month.
• Shifts available: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Valid California Food Handler Card (required)
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting (required)
• Knowledge of age-specific dietary needs for infant through geriatric populations
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and staff
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Familiarity with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards related to nutrition services is a plus
