We are seeking an experienced Engineer III to lead critical environmental and solid waste projects. In this role, you’ll tackle engineering and construction challenges at solid waste disposal facilities while mentoring junior team members. Your expertise in project management and regulatory compliance will drive innovative solutions and contribute to the environmental sector's growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage consulting firms for tasks such as permit applications, construction plans, site monitoring, and regulatory submissions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators; represent the organization in meetings, hearings, and inspections.
• Oversee landfill construction projects, including contract administration, quality assurance, and budgeting.
• Monitor landfill capacity, prepare airspace calculations, and coordinate fill sequencing plans.
• Conduct regular site evaluations to ensure compliance and identify expansion opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve operational, environmental, and compliance challenges.
• Participate in acquisitions and divestitures, offering proforma modeling and due diligence support.
• Mentor technical staff, fostering professional growth within the team.
Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• In-depth understanding of environmental regulations and landfill design.
• In depth knowledge of environmental regulations, including solid waste, air, storm water and wastewater.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, and regulations.
• Understanding of accounting processes and P&L statements.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Exceptional project management abilities with a focus on multitasking./
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Environmental preferred).
Experience:
• 5+ years of related engineering experience.
Other Requirements:
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including remote locations.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and work independently or collaboratively.
