We want your knowledge and expertise! **Job Summary and Qualifications** As Emergency Management Specialist at our facility you will have the opportunity to be both an expert in your field and a caregiver, providing important services for our patients and staff. You will joining an impressive team that prides themselves on keeping our hospital functioning safely. In this role: + You will be part of the first defense against disasters, whether natural or man-made. + You will review emergency plans and work with officials in government and social institutions to ensure that the facility's needs are met in times of disaster. + You will apply for and manage grant funding for emergency planning and management efforts. + You will act as a liaison between the hospital and EMS agencies throughout the state, including ground and air transport systems. + You will work with EMS agencies and EMS Medical Directors to coordinate and facilitate communications, education, training opportunities, and Quality Improvement strategies between the hospital and EMS. You will assist the Emergency Department Director in assessing, planning, and implementing processes and Quality Improvement strategies for Emergency Department admissions from EMS and serve as a point of contact and resource for EMS agencies **What qualifications you will need:** + Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse license required. + ICS 100, 200, 700, AND 800 certifications required; ICS 300 AND 400 required within 6 months of hire. + American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification. + American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification. + American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC). + TNCC (or ATCN) preferred. + Prefer three years of emergency room and/or emergency management/disaster preparedness experience.
