Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. The Director, Production & Operations, Unscripted Lifestyle will assist in the management of development and current original content across the NBCU Unscripted Lifestyle Portfolio. Responsibilities + Assess Third Party Production Companies' production plans and schedules, to ensure that Network needs are met, as they relate to creative, technical, legal, costs, and timelines + Review and negotiate budgets - series, specials, development reels, pilots, additional episodes, breakage, etc. + Oversee and maintain relationships with Third Party Production Companies through prep, shoot, and delivery + Manage and solve day-to-day production issues for multiple projects in a quick, timely manner + Ensure all deliverables are complete and on-time for all linear and streaming platforms + Review and monitor weekly cost reports for assigned projects + Present and explain Network guidelines including prep, production, and post-production requirements to all 3rd party production companies + Facilitate internal review of foreign production plans to ensure security and compliance requirements are met + Liaise between Third Party Production Companies and all internal departments including Creative Executives, Business Affairs, Legal, Marketing, Digital, Network Operations, etc. + Liaise with Finance to Review/Approve cash flow payment schedules and invoicing for assigned series + Work in coordination with the P&O Production Managers and Coordinators on assigned projects. + Support any requests from the EVP, SVP, & VPs of Prod Ops and other projects and duties as assigned Basic Requirements: + 7+ years in production management with both hands-on experience in unscripted productions as well as network/streaming experience preferred + Must have a solid understanding of production and post-production workflows + Must be able to assess budgets, schedules, and full-scale production plans for a variety of program types (i.e. pilots, presentations, series, specials, live events, etc.) Desired Characteristics: + Excellent project management, accounting, communication, and interpersonal skills + Team-oriented but able to demonstrate leadership skills, organized, accurate, articulate, responsible, flexible, resourceful, self-motivated, hands-on when needed, and able to delegate + Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment + Able to work cooperatively with both internal and outside production company executives Additional Requirements: + Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
