Job Description

We are currently seeking skilled Diesel, Heavy Equipment Mechanics to join our team in Fort Myers, FL. This role is crucial for maintaining and repairing our extensive fleet of heavy machinery, including bulldozers, excavators, frontend loaders, and other construction and logging equipment. Our mechanics are not only responsible for routine maintenance but also for diagnosing complex issues, executing repairs, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations. Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing Faults and Malfunctions: Use computerized and other testing equipment to identify issues and determine the extent of repair required for faulty components.
  • Equipment Repair and Replacement: Dismantle faulty equipment parts and install new or repaired parts to ensure equipment functionality and safety.
  • Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections to detect faults and malfunctions, clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Technical Expertise: Interpret technical manuals and drawings to execute repairs and enhancements, and understand electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for advanced repair tasks.
  • Collaboration and Compliance: Work closely with other mechanics and management, maintain machinery schedules, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Testing and Verification: Test repaired machinery to verify successful restoration and ensure adherence to performance and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is essential.
  • Hands-on Experience: Apprenticeships or previous roles in heavy equipment maintenance are crucial.
  • Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is often necessary.
