Overview:
Join a dynamic team dedicated to the advancement of automotive technology as a Design Engineer specializing in Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) systems. This position focuses on the innovative design, development, and validation of GDI fuel injectors, ensuring top-tier performance and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring cutting-edge products to market, with a strong emphasis on quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage GDI injector design projects from initial concept through to production release, including Design Validation (DV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) readiness.
- Develop and refine spray and flow test methodologies, ensuring alignment with OEM specifications and standards.
- Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications, facilitating seamless integration with manufacturing processes.
- Partner with manufacturing teams to optimize design for manufacturability, ensuring timely and successful product launches.
- Support application engineering efforts for both OEM and aftermarket programs, maintaining focus on design efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve product issues effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fuel injector design, including at least 2 years focused on GDI systems.
- Expertise in injector internal geometry, spray pattern control, and comprehensive fuel system requirements.
- Proven experience in validation test planning and execution, with a strong ability to correlate results to OEM standards.
- Familiarity with DFMEA, APQP, and PPAP processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Creo preferred) and tolerance analysis.
- Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams.
