Great Lakes Academy is hiring a part-time evening Custodian to join the team.
Great Lakes Academy is a K - 8th grade public charter school located in Pontiac. The academy has been serving the community for more than 20 years. Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented part-time Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout our facility. This role is essential for creating a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and students.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Compensation: $15-$20 per hour, based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors and surfaces.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas regularly.
Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with recycling guidelines.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages to management.
Assist with setup and breakdown of facilities for events, meetings, and special occasions.
Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Report maintenance issues and damages to the supervisor promptly.
Perform additional cleaning tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Basic knowledge of cleaning materials and supplies.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and supplies.
