Job Description

Looking for a Clinical Manager that is highly motivated, organized, and interested in working for the largest Retina Practice in North Carolina. The Clinical Manager will lead the clinical team, overseeing daily operations, staff performance, and ensuring efficient patient flow. Strong communication with both patients and team members is essential, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the clinical team at the assigned location to include the direction of work and performance management.
  • Maintain appropriate supplies for the office.
  • Obtain patient’s chief complaint and screen (e.g. visual acuity, confrontational visual.
  • fields, measure IOP, pupillary check, ocular motility, dilate pupils, check blood pressure, etc.).
  • Triage patients and record accurate documentation of the patient’s medical history.
  • Communicate with team members and physician about patient care.
  • Works collaboratively in a clinical team environment to reduce patient and physician wait times.
  • Communicate with patients using a caring tone and provide thorough communication before and after their visit with the physician, providing education as needed.
  • Prep exam room and patient charts for physician.
  • Perform retinal imaging and the ability to properly use all imaging equipment.
  • Prep for and assist with in-office procedures as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate repairs of equipment when needed.
  • Drug inventory.


Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal customer service skills, including effective listening, clear verbal and written communication, problem solving skills.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to practice locations as needed.
  • Ability to master multiple software systems to input and retrieve data.
  • Ability to master ophthalmology and retina terminology.


Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a busy optometry, ophthalmology, and/or retina clinic.
  • COA, COT, or COMT certification.
  • Bilingual – Spanish.
